As gardeners, a fundamental element of our craft l As gardeners, a fundamental element of our craft lies in the art of patience ⏰🍃

In an era where emails are sent and received in milliseconds, there’s something almost sacred about giving your time – many years, decades, or even a lifetime – to plan, prepare, plant and nurture a garden.

Plants grow in their own sweet time and as such they teach us to slow down, to be patient, and to appreciate quiet cyclical rhythms of the natural world around us. Watching a garden grow, change and develop is one of life’s greatest pleasures.

Today we’ve shared two images of the same clutch of trees shot in our Asiatic Garden 10 years apart – proof that slow and steady really does win the race 🐢
The fuzzy pink catkins of Salix gracilistyla 'Moun The fuzzy pink catkins of Salix gracilistyla 'Mount Aso' are looking wonderful in the Gardens and make quite an interesting and eye-catching winter feature 💕

In time, these silky little catkins will turn grey/yellow before making way for its lush blueish-grey foliage that remains fresh and green right through to the autumn. They make an excellent backdrop in spring and summer for other flowering plants.

How good it is to see the changes of spring making subtle differences to the gardens day by day. We’ll be in full bloom again before we know it! 🌸🌻🍃✨
We’re finally on the cusp of a long-awaited new We’re finally on the cusp of a long-awaited new season, and what better way to celebrate than with a blog post dedicated to the early-flowering signifiers of spring: Crocus 💜🐝

In this week’s blog, our Head Gardener discusses these beautiful purple-hued perennial flowers and gives his best tips for their planting and care. He also takes you through some of his favourite varieties, so if you’re looking for a little bit of garden-inspo this Sunday morning you’ve come to the right place!

Link is in our bio... Enjoy 📚

An untouched white carpet covers the ground of our Asiatic Garden whilst the eye is drawn to the mansion’s rooftop and charming yellow chimney pots by the delicate light of the morning sun 🌞✨

The snow-dusted hilltops in the distance beyond give a little glimpse of the beauty of our home, the Tywi Valley.
