Music in the Pool Garden ~ No Mean Biscuit

August 2, 2019 @ 7:00 pm

The first Friday night of May, June, July and August is music night at Aberglasney! Completing our 2019 series is a new group at Aberglasney: No Mean Biscuit. The group was formed by Barry Wade of The Swing Boyz, who have performed at Aberglasney in previous years. No Mean Biscuit say that they are...

'A six piece that came about because Barry Wade thought that five good musicians he knows should be brought together, especially if he could be brought along for the ride!

'So with Louise Weldon on vocals , B.W .on saxes, James Hancock Evans on keys, Ian Lewis on bass, Rob Lewis on guitar and Dominic Wright on percussion we have a small group with a silly name that plays pop, Latin and swing with a jazz inclination.

'We hope you will enjoy our distinctive versions of  the numbers we play---from  “Autumn Leaves” and “La Vie En Rose” to “Walk On By”, “Route 66” and “You Know I’m No Good” and many more.'

If the weather is fine, No Mean Biscuit will play out in the open in the Pool Garden. If we are unlucky and get rain, then they will take to the cover of the canopied Tearooms terrace. You are welcome to bring a picnic, chairs and blankets to use in the Pool Garden or, alternatively, you can book for a two-course buffet supper on the Tearooms terrace at a price of £18 per person including a welcome drink. To book, please call the Tearooms direct on 01558 667959 or email tearooms@aberglasney.org

Admission to the event is charged at £10 per adult or £8 for Members, with children up to the age of 16 being free. There’s no need to book admission in advance; please simply pay on the gate, on the night by card or cash. If you opt for supper on the Tearooms terrace, then the Tearooms will charge for this separately on the night.

Gates open by 6.30pm for a 7pm performance, so that there’s time for you to set your picnic up or take a stroll around the Gardens.
