Foraged Colour workshop with Linda Row
October 10 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Foraged colour will be an example of sustainable, closed-loop production with zero air miles, pushing the boundaries of place and what can be sourced locally. Sustainable designer, Linda Row, will teach eco-friendly dyeing techniques using a variety of natural fibers and foraged plant materials. Students will be taught safe methods to experiment with an assortment of materials, including bark, leaves, berries and flowers. The workshop will be held in the ‘Old Piggeries’ and Linda will be able to meet all workshop attendees at our main entrance.
Linda is a sustainable textile and clothing designer, founder of Boutique Ethique. She is currently taking a PhD developing a ‘smart’ textile fiber that will offer mitigation for electrically sensitive individuals. Over the past few years, Linda has used clothing as a platform to discuss issues surrounding sustainable design practices. Her recent exhibitions include: Foraged Colour, SIT, Stroud 2020; Extremely Textile, Black Swan Arts, Frome 2018; Biography in Cloth, FAB, Bath 2018; Shiftworks, touring exhibition 2015-17.
