After heavy pruning Aristolochia gigantea commonly known as ‘Dutchman’s Pipe’ has flowered at Aberglasney and is growing tremendously well. With flowers measuring 30x15cm it is a most impressive climber. Originating from Brazil and Panama it is very rarely seen outside botanic gardens in mainland Europe, as there are very few with the facilities to grow it. Despite the flowers only lasting a few days it is most deserving of its place in the Ninfarium and is the pride of the gardening team at Aberglasney.
