Transformation of Church View

As usual there has been much progress over the past few months in the garden at Aberglasney. The greatest change is the area known as Church View, an area at the back of the aviary.
In 1999 a sunken crater was lined with clay to create a small pool, but this scheme never did work and has been nothing more than a boggy eyesore. The area has now been radically transformed, the pool has gone and a path now dissects the crater in two. A number of large rocks are being placed to create elevated tiered beds. The end result will be yet another plantsman's haven, consisting of a collection of diminutive bulbs and a selection of uncommon low growing shrubs.
