Donations

Aberglasney Restoration Trust is a Charity (No. 1044279) and its charitable objectives are to restore and preserve Aberglasney for the pleasure of the public, and to safeguard its future. Your donation will help us to achieve this aim. Future plans and projects for Aberglasney Mansion and Gardens include:-

  • Development of the existing Garden Areas
  • Develop the selection of fine plants and trees in the Gardens
  • Continue to improve the accessibility to the Gardens by the acquisition of motorised wheelchairs and the development of improved facilities for people with disabilities
  • Restoring the Main Hall with its wood panelling, intricate plaster work
    cornices and ceiling rose
  • Re-instating the sweeping split staircase to the first floor
  • Installing lift access to the first and second floors to ensure accessibility for all
  • Development and restoration of the first and second floors of the Mansion
  • Improvement of the visitor information displays and film footage
  • Extension of the Cafe facilities with the development of a Vinery
  • Improvement of our plant sales area and plant development in the gardens by propagation on site

Voluntary work

Aberglasney Gardens is pleased to welcome volunteers to help create and maintain this site of historical importance and horticultural excellence. Voluntary work can include any or all of the following roles:-

  • Basic gardening, routine garden maintenance along with seed and plant propagation
  • Visitor Liaison and customer care
  • Office administration and reception work
  • Assistance in the gift shop with stock and displays
  • Helping with providing guided tours and looking after groups
  • Assisting with the Winter and Spring Fairs, specialised plant sales and other events
  • Stewarding art exhibitions in the Mansion during the summer season

As well as good company and having fun volunteers are offered a substantial discount in the shop and plant sales area as well as exchange visits with the National Botanic Garden of Wales and other social events.
