Printing with Natural Dyes Workshop with Linda Row
July 18 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Ancient dyeing methods for modern textiles will explore techniques for printing with natural dyes used in the Indus valley, considered the cradle of textile arts. Both resist and block printing will be explored with a variety of natural dyes and students will create a finished sample of their own design printed on to a silk scarf. The workshop will be held in the ‘Old Piggeries’ and Linda will be able to meet all workshop attendees at our main entrance.
Linda is a sustainable textile and clothing designer, founder of Boutique Ethique. She is currently taking a PhD developing a ‘smart’ textile fiber that will offer mitigation for electrically sensitive individuals. Over the past few years, Linda has used clothing as a platform to discuss issues surrounding sustainable design practices. Her recent exhibitions include: Foraged Colour, SIT, Stroud 2020; Extremely Textile, Black Swan Arts, Frome 2018; Biography in Cloth, FAB, Bath 2018; Shiftworks, touring exhibition 2015-17.
Cost for the workshop is priced at £85.00 including materials and admission fee. Food and drink can be purchased in our highly recommended Tearooms. To book please contact; email@example.com or visit www.foragedcolour.org.
