Music in the Mansion ~ Lisa Jones & Emma Gibbins

Part of Aberglasney's 2019 Music in the Mansion Weekend and in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Gardens.
Mezzo-soprano Lisa Jones accompanied by pianist Emma Gibbins performs ‘A Garland of Song’. Tickets are £15 each and include a welcome drink and admission to the Gardens from 3pm - please book online by clicking the link below. The Tearooms will be open until 7pm should you wish to enjoy a pre-recital supper overlooking the Pool Garden.
Lisa Jones was born in West Wales and took an early interest in music. She studied the violin, gaining distinction at grade 8 and also took singing lessons. After a course of study at the Welsh College of Music and Drama with the Soprano Eiddwen Harrhy, Lisa furthered her studies with the late international mezzo Maureen Guy, more recently with the Welsh baritone David Gwesyn Smith.
Emma Gibbins began her musical career as an organ scholar at Pembroke College, Cambridge, subsequently studying at the Royal College of Music in London. She has worked in churches in London, High Wycombe and Belfast and moved to Newport in 2015 as Director of Music at Newport Cathedral. She also teaches piano for Gwent Music, accompanies the Adams Chorale and is Chair of the South East Wales RSCM committee.
