Orchid Study Group ~ Illustrated talk: ‘Conservation of Colombian orchids’ by Phil Seaton

Phil Seaton, biologist, was formerly project manager for the Orchid Seed Stores for Sustainable Use (OSSSU) project at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He is actively involved in teaching orchid micro-propagation techniques for conservation purposes at Charles I School, Kidderminster. On entry to the talk, the Orchid Study Group will charge non-members of the Orchid Study Group £3. On entry to the Gardens, normal admission applies to non-members of Aberglasney. Workshops with the Head Gardener ~ Plant division for the home gardener

Come and learn how to divide your favourite herbaceous perennials so that you can make the most out of what you grow. The workshop will include the four main types of division, how to lift plants, how to store them and how to plant them. Workshops with the Head Gardener ~ Outdoor propagation, cold frames, cuttings and seed

Learn how to use some very cost effective, traditional and often best methods of propagating hardy plants such as hard wood cuttings. This is something anyone with a garden can do just as well as a professional nursery.
