Welsh Orchid Festival

August 31 - September 1

The Orchid Study Group is holding its 2019 Welsh Orchid Festival in the Mansion at Aberglasney Gardens on Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September! The weekend will be heaven for orchid lovers. There will be orchids on display (and available to purchase) from the very best of the UK’s orchid nurseries, a series of nine talks and demonstrations by orchid experts and orchid art. Orchid Study Group ~ Illustrated talk: ‘Conservation of Colombian orchids’ by Phil Seaton

Phil Seaton, biologist, was formerly project manager for the Orchid Seed Stores for Sustainable Use (OSSSU) project at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He is actively involved in teaching orchid micro-propagation techniques for conservation purposes at Charles I School, Kidderminster.
